We were together with the esteemed art theorist Ezgi Bakçay at Another Politics School.
Olof Palmes International Center and ABF with the support of our association has successfully conducted the Another Politics School (BBSO) since 2017, and today, it opened its doors hosted by Şişli Municipality.
The opening event, held at Habitat, began with inspiring speeches by Project Director Elmas Arus and Project Advisor Ulaş Bayraktar, followed by a session where participants introduced themselves.
Elmas Arus emphasized the ethnic, cultural, and political diversity of participants from different regions of Turkey, stating, “Everyone came with a story, BBSO will be a stop for these stories.”
Ulaş Bayraktar highlighted the transformative power of art and cultural production in politics. He stated that this year’s program was structured around the theme of aesthetic sensibility, saying, “Art allows us to reinterpret the world by raising awareness in individuals and society. We will create an oasis here for one week.”
Elmas Arus stated that the aim of the Another Politics School is to make participants, from all walks of life, feel at home, listen to their stories, and empower them.
