We visited Postane Istanbul with the participants of Another Politics School.

With the participants of Another Politics School, we visited Postane Istanbul, one of the important historical buildings of Istanbul.
Built in 1859 as the British Post Office and used for various purposes throughout history, this building stands out as a place that reflects the cultural and social history of the city.
Yaşar Adanalı, the founding director of Postane Istanbul, explained the venue's aim to host impact-oriented works and joint cultural productions.
Yaşar Adanalı said, "We aim to bring together those who produce for a fairer and more livable world, those who protect and preserve cultural heritage, and those who enjoy listening to and telling innovative and creative stories. We play an important role by providing spaces that facilitate interaction between social and environmental impact-oriented workers and citizens."
During the visit, Yaşar Adanalı spoke about his book "Postane: An Archaeology of Building," which deeply examines the transformations of the post office.
This work details the architectural journey of the building by combining archival research and oral history studies, offering visitors an important resource to understand how the structure has transformed from the past to the present.
We would like to express our gratitude to the dear Yaşar Adanalı for hosting Another Politics School!
