We came together with representatives of Roma Civil Society Organisations within the scope of ROMACT Programme.

Within the scope of the #ROMACTED Programme, a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe, we met with representatives of Roma civil society organisations at Şişli Municipality's Kuştepe Neighbourhood House with the participation of ROMACT Programme Manager Ana Oprisan and Clara Sanchez Pastor, Programme Manager at the EU Directorate General for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy.

During the meeting, obstacles to the access of Roma to fundamental rights were discussed and analyses on the needs of the community in terms of education, housing, health and employment were shared. The functionality of support programmes for Roma was discussed.

The importance of budgeted strategies and action plans was emphasised and the need for an active monitoring and evaluation process was stressed.

The meeting, in which the relations with local administrations, which are the implementing actors of social policies, were evaluated, ended after a discussion on permanent solutions.
