Saha Görüşmelerimizi Tamamladık!

The field interviews we conducted in Adana, Hatay and Gaziantep within the scope of the project ‘Empowerment of Roma Women: Advocacy for Economic Inclusion and Rights Mainstreaming’ project, which we carried out with the support of the EU and Roma Active Albania, enabled us to better understand the difficulties experienced by Rom, Dom and Abdal women after the earthquake.
  • The effects of the earthquake left deep traces on the economic and social life of Rom, Dom and Abdal communities and we conducted these interviews in order to better understand the obstacles they face in this process.
  • What did we see in the context of the earthquake?
  • Access Barriers: Infrastructure damages and logistical problems after the earthquake made it difficult for Rom, Dom and Abdal women to access the labour market.
  • Need for Psychosocial Support: The earthquake trauma caused great difficulties in both personal and professional lives of women.
  • Education and Employment Opportunities: Disruptions in access to education and vocational opportunities created significant obstacles in supporting the economic independence of Rom, Dom and Abdal women.
  • These field interviews helped us to understand the specific challenges faced by Rom, Dom and Abdal women after the earthquake and will be the basis for developing solutions. We would like to thank all the women who took part in the study for their contributions and support!
